Dr. Monita Leavitt, gifted education specialist for 25 years, is an international consultant and teacher trainer of high abilities children. A contributing author of the 2nd ed. of Exceptional Needs Standards NBPTS (National Board for Professional Teaching Standards , 2010) and author of Building a Gifted Program: Identifying and Educating Students in Your School (2007), Dr. Leavitt currently teaches online courses for SIG (Summer Institute for the Gifted).
